Following a 6 week trial at Torquay United’s Elite Advanced Development Centre, Shebbear College Year 7 
pupil Stuart Williams was recently offered a Schoolboy Contract and subsequently signed to the Torquay United FC under 12’s team.
A message posted on the Development Centre’s website stated ‘This is fantastic news and shows that quality players are being picked up right across the Development Centre network.’
Torquay United FC have 8 Development Centres across the South West. The principle aim of the Torquay United Elite Advanced Development Centres is to produce players capable of progressing to play for Torquay United FC Academy.
This is done by developing talented players locally within a structured, professional program for players from the age of U7 to U16 level. Whilst at the Advanced Development Centre players will be able to continue their local club commitments.
In addition, Stuart has been invited to join the North Devon Team, so we look forward to hearing more about Stuart’s football success in the future.
