Michael Goodwin, head of Sibford School near Banbury, is visiting the States this week to share examples of best practice at the American Quaker Heads’ Annual Fall Gathering taking place in Philadelphia.

Michael, who is one of four Quaker heads in the UK invited to attend the conference, will meet with around 80 head teachers from across the United States to discuss community service and service learning.

As part of the visit he plans to join with fellow delegates helping out at the Whosoever Gospel Mission which provides shelter, food, clothing, education, counseling and rehabilitation to homeless and/or needy men, women and children in the Philadelphia Metropolitan Area. He will also visit Germantown Friends School and William Penn Charter School.
