Paige starred as Anne Frank in Sibford School’s musical production last year

A Sibford School pupil has featured in the BAFTA and Oscar-nominated film ‘Darkest Hour’.

Paige Goodman, 15, was cast as a refugee in the hit film but had to keep the role a secret until its release.

She said: “It was an amazing experience. Having been selected at audition, I was invited to go to London for costume fitting, hair and make-up.

“We did the actual filming at an airbase near Bicester. I had to wake up at 5am and start filming at 6am so it was an exhausting day but thoroughly enjoyable, even if it did involve a lot of takes and patience to film our scene.”

The film has been nominated for best film and best picture at the BAFTAs and the Oscars respectively, with Gary Oldman nominated for multiple individual awards for his portrayal of Winston Churchill.
