A Level Results Do Us Proud Says Head

Michael Goodwin, head of Sibford School, says he is delighted with this year’s A Level results … despite the fact that, in line with national trend, statistics show a decline in the % of entries A* to A.

“Anyone who knows anything about Sibford School will be well aware that we believe that the statistics tell very little about the true picture,” said Michael.

“Behind the figures lie tales of fabulous achievement and I think our students should be very proud of their results.

“Of the 23 students sitting their exams more than half were, or had been, on a support programme and of those, eight have gained at least one B grade or above and two have gained an A or A*. This is the true achievement and shows the real value of the support they have been given.”

Top grades were spread across the subject areas with Isabella Clarke-Price receiving an A* in Media and As in RS and Psychology. Tom Smith received an A* in Geography and an A in History. Alexander Stewart received an A* in Maths and Alice Weil received an A in Art.

“The fact that we have students receiving A* – A in such a wide range of subjects illustrates the strengths across the whole curriculum,” said Michael.  “My congratulations go to all our students and we wish them well in their future endeavours.”
