Sibford School GCSE Results 2015More than a half of Sibford School students picking up their GCSE results today have achieved at least one A* or A grade

And, unusually, it is the boys who have taken the higher share of the top grades.

Michael Burton gained nine A*s and two A grades; Max Ostrand received five A*s and five As; and Ben Taylor received five A*s, three As and three Bs.

Top performing girls were Grace Clark who achieved three A*s and five A grades and Kate Mills who gained one A* and nine A grades.

Overall, 83.3% of pupils achieved at least five A*-C grades … an increase on last year’s results … with A* grades being achieved in a wide range of subjects including English, Maths, Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Drama, Design & Technology, Geography, Russian, Spanish, Statistics and Religious Studies.

Sibford Head Michael Goodwin said: “Obviously we are delighted that our results show an improvement on last year and that so many students have received A* and A grades.

“However equally we have some fantastic results that the headline statistics fail to reveal. For example, the severely dyslexic student who has achieved four B grades and five C grades across a wide range of subjects.

“My congratulations go to both our pupils and their teachers whose hard work and commitment has helped the school once again to achieve results we can all be extremely proud of.”
