Bruton School for Girls is hosting two events for Somerset Art Weeks 2011.

Dovecot artists, a local group of artists from the Bruton area, are holding an exhibition of work at the school from Friday 16th September to Sunday 2nd October 2011. Opening times are Wednesday to Sunday 11am – 5.00pm.

The exhibition includes work from Carole-Anne Adlington, Margaret Bowman, Ilsa Coxon, Elizabeth Deverell, Jeffy Salt and Patience Thom, featuring paintings, prints, ceramics, textiles and silver jewellery.

On Thursday 29th September there will be a talk by Karen Gaskill on Maximum Exposure, an Arts Council funded project, which will commission 3 new visual works of art, exposing an enigmatic or unknown aspect of Somerset. For further information contact info@somersetartworks.org.uk.

Headmaster, John Burrough, said ‘The standard of Art at the school is very high and we are delighted once again to be closely involved in Somerset Art Weeks. Visitors to the exhibition are welcome to view the Art department whilst they are at the school.’
