Sporting Success for Bromsgrove U13 Boys

Bromsgrove U13 Sporting SuccessThe U13 boys’ teams at Bromsgrove Preparatory School have once again shown their exceptional sporting talent with success in Hockey and Rugby tournaments on Friday and Saturday.

On Friday 9th March the U13 Boys’ 1st VII hockey team travelled to Repton School for the IAPS North and Midlands U13 mini hockey tournament. Against strong opposition from other competing schools, the Bromsgrove boys won through to the semi-final where they beat Dean Close 3-0. The final against Foremarke Hall resulted in a 3-1 victory for Bromsgrove, securing them a place in IAPS National Final at Millfield School on Tuesday 20th March.

Only a day later and fresh from their victory, half the squad were off to the annual Millfield Rugby 7s tournament at Millfield School. Against some of the strongest schools in the pool matches, the boys faced tough competition but won through in their last pool match against Downsend with a score of 17-14 and qualifying them for the Edgarley Shield Plate competition. The team dominated in the quarter and semi finals and defeated Port Regis 7-5 in the final – a team they had lost to earlier in the day.

Well done to all involved in both tournaments.”
