St David’s Students take home a “ruck” of awards

picpic 2Budding rugby players, Charlie Malone, Ethan Thomas, Matthew Richards and Jamie Booth have cleaned up in their respective Rugby Club Awards Nights.

Charlie Malone U16’s Colwyn Bay RFC and Ethan Thomas Llandudno RFC U14’s both took home most improved player. Ethan Year 9 said, “I’ve really enjoyed this season playing rugby in the Eyri Cup for the U15’s and getting to the quarter finals.  I can’t wait to go on tour when I’m in the 6th form!”

Charlie and Ethan have had great seasons with St David’s College, Ethan developing nicely as an abrasive and hard tackling scrum half for school and Charlie honing his skills on the wing for school 1stXV and his Colwyn Bay RFC.

Jamie Booth who joined St David’s College this year has played at fly half for school and he has been instrumental in the team playing some fantastic rugby this year.

Head of PE Mr Daniel Lycett said, “It is really encouraging to see these players recognised at club level and it is really important for them to play for their local teams as well as school.”
