St. Francis` College`s Headmistress, Mrs Dorothy MacGinty commented “This year schools have been told to expect big variations in their GCSE results, thanks to the largest set of changes to exams for many years. Against this background I am thrilled to congratulate our girls and staff on a truly outstanding set of results”.

St. Francis` has seen a 12% increase in the number of A* passes over last year to reach 31.4% compared to a national average of 6.7%. In total a massive 65% of all exams taken were passed at A* or A grade, a 100% pass rate with 90% of exams passed at A*, A or B grades. The national statistics are compiled on A* – C grade passes which is 68% with St. Francis` achieving 98%.

Almost a quarter of the girls achieved straight A grades for 11 or more GCSEs and 3 girls passed  12 GCSEs all at A*.

Mrs MacGinty said “These are fantastic results across all subjects and are a great credit to the hard work and dedication of the girls and their teachers. Well done”.
