Two St John’s Year 8 students and one Year 10 student are making the most of St John’s international connections by travelling to Hout Bay in South Africa this Wednesday.

Helen Varley (Yr 10), Flora Willis Fleming (Yr 8) and Rosie Varley (Yr 8) are flying out to the school, which is part of the IES network of schools, on Wednesday and will be enrolling for the start of the new term.

The girls will be staying with host families in Hout Bay and will join their equivalent classes at the school until half term. As this is the start of the new school year in South Africa the Year 8 girls will be lucky enough to start their stay with a trip to High Africa – an outward bound adventure camp close to Cape Town – with their class.

This term’s after school clubs will be a bit different for the girls too. They have signed up for clubs including Surfing, Riding and Hiking.

One of the key benefits of St John’s School is that St John’s students are able to study at any of the schools in the IES network including schools in South Africa, Hungary and Florida.
