St Mary’s appoints new Head for Junior School

StMary Cambridge New Head teacherThe Governors of St Mary’s School, Cambridge are delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Christepher Hald as Head of Juniors with immediate effect.

The formal announcement of Christepher’s appointment was made yesterday (Wednesday 24 October) at the celebratory opening of the Junior School’s Key Stage 1 building, The Coach House. The event marked the final stage of the relocation of St Mary’s Junior School from Bateman Street to a new site on Chaucer Road.

Chair of Governors, Frank Morgan, said: “Christepher has been a welcome addition to the Junior School and he has made a huge impression with the girls, parents and staff.

The Governors, along with Charlotte Avery, Headmistress, are certain that Christepher’s vision and experience will benefit the Junior School as it moves into this exciting new phase.

Christepher added: “Since sending my own daughter to St Mary’s, I have valued the unique, caring and nurturing ethos of the school, along with its ability to achieve excellent results and encourage each individual student to flourish.

" I am delighted to be leading such a professional and talented staff at our new site in historic Chaucer Road.”

Christepher, who joined St Mary’s as Deputy Head of the Junior School in September 2011, has been the acting Head of Juniors since the beginning of this academic year.
