We welcomed Dr Kirk to her first Company Supper and our guests for the evening, Peter Foskett and Lisa Whitehouse – Foskett. Lisa is the Founder of the Ed Rich Charity The Charitable Foundation for the Education of Nepalese Children (CFENC).
Our Head of Companies, Issy Steel and Zoe Spicer had decided on a Funfair/ Circus theme. Mrs Foreman dressed up as the Circus Ring Master and there were plenty of clowns, circus animals, fortune tellers, and a few bearded ladies.
The whole evening was a themed extravaganza complete with balloons and bunting, funfair games and cocktails garnished with umbrellas and straws. Our supper included popcorn, chicken and chips in a bun and followed by ice cream, jelly tots and chocolate buttons.
Ed Rich is currently raising money for the CFENC and Lisa gave us a very insightful presentation and update on the Buddha Primary school in Eastern Nepal where the girls were able to see how the money we had raised had been spent.
The re-furbished school building, once cold and leaking is now fully waterproof with new walls and windows, a new roof and benches and tables for the pupils to work at.
The cost to employ a new teacher at the school for one year is £450 and Mrs Foreman challenged the girls to raise this amount to pay the annual salary. So far Ed Rich have raised over £1500 for CFENC and on the night a further donation was made, money raised at the last school Mufti Day.
Prizes for best dressed went to Lily Marriot (clown), Bella Smith, Bea Nash, Kamilla Gulieva, Laura Steel ( a menagerie of circus animals), Mrs Brown (fortune teller) and for the best menu-Leo Monson.
The whole evening was a great success, and everyone enjoyed homemade candy floss before heading back to the Houses.
