St Peter’s School York Local schools do battle at Sevens

St Olave’s School in York hosted a large inter-school Under-12 Sevens tournament; with local schools Terrington, St Peters York RugbyEasingwold, Ampleforth, Pocklington, Hymers, Bradford, Merchiston and Barnard Castle being represented, as well as two teams from St Olave’s.

This was a fantastic day of high paced rugby featuring budding stars from across the North and Yorkshire. It took place on the Queen Anne fields at St Olave’s School.

There were three prizes to take home on the day; the Plate, the Bowl and the Cup. St Olave’s A side took the Plate after beating Bradford in the final. Terrington claimed the Bowl in a win over Easingwold.

The winners of the Cup were Hymers from Hull, who beat Barnard Castle resoundingly 24-7 in the final, rounding off an excellent tournament for them.

All teams displayed professionalism and skill on and off the ball, making for an exciting day of rugby for players and spectators alike.
