Siblings Calum and Libby Brown are celebrating after achieving straight A* grades in this summer’s A-Level and GCSE results.
The brother and sister, both of whom attend St Peter’s School in York, achieved a clean sweep, with top grades in Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Physics at A-Level for Calum, and GCSEs in Music, Art, Latin, French, English Literature and Language, Maths, Double Science and Religious Studies for Libby.
The duo also share a passion for music, and each holds a Grade 8 with Distinction. Both play the clarinet, with Libby also playing saxophone and flute. They each secured a high A* pass at GCSE for Music, and hold Music Awards from the School. Calum and Libby also took part in the school’s Music Tour to New York this summer.
Paul Miles-Kingston, Director of Music at St Peter’s, said: “Music is an integral part of the life of St Peter's. Our students continue to enjoy both the academic and performing elements of GCSE, with outstanding results such as Libby's mark of 397/400.” Pupils at St Peter’s have achieved 24 A* and 22 A grade passes for GCSE music during the past three years.
Calum will start at Durham University this September to pursue a degree in Maths, while Libby will continue her studies at St Peter’s in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Music or Latin, with the aim of studying Medicine at University.
