St Peters Jeremy Strong children's booksThe popular children’s author Jeremy Strong was on campus yesterday, talking to pupils from several local schools.

Children from Poppleton Road School, The Minster School and St Paul’s School Holgate joined pupils from Clifton School and St Olave’s School at the Shepherd Hall at St Olave’s.

Jeremy talked about his new book, My Brother’s Famous Bottom Gets Crowned! – a raucous comedy with royal themes.

He arrived at St Olave’s in the morning and talked for an hour to the assembled children. He then conducted a vast signing session, where the children had the opportunity to get their books signed by the author.

Jeremy’s words were inspirational for the assembled children and adults alike. He compares the children’s pens to Harry Potter’s wand, saying only that they were much more powerful; they can conjure entire worlds purely from the imagination.
