Young tennis players from schools across the region have been competing to become champions at St Olave’s School’s annual tennis tournament.

The tournament, which saw categories for U13 and U12 players, was contested by teams from St Olave’s, Terrington Hall, St Martin’s Ampleforth, Aysgarth, Bradford Grammar, RGS Newcastle and Trent College.

The matches were played in a doubles format, and after several closely contested games, St Olave’s claimed victory in the U13 competition against Trent College.

Trent College won the U12 tournament against St Olave’s.

Boys’ Games teacher Mr Dan Busby said: “The tennis tournament continues to go from strength to strength following their creation last year. There was some great play from players of all schools and my congratulations go to Trent College and St Olave’s as winners.”
