St Peter's York The rules of physics lectureMore than 400 York residents have attended a lecture at St Peter’s School (Tuesday 9 June 2015) exploring the counter-intuitive rules of quantum particles and how they impact on the world around us.

Delivered by Professor Jeff Forshaw, ‘The Quantum Universe’ was part of the York Festival of Ideas. Based on Professor Forshaw’s book of the same name which he co-authored with Professor Brian Cox, the talk was the first of three lectures at St Peter’s School as part of the Festival.

David Morris, Head of Science at St Peter’s School, said: “The subject of quantum physics underpins most of modern physics, and to hear about this fascinating subject from such a renowned speaker was wonderful. A fantastic night was had by all.”

Jeff Forshaw is Professor of Particle Physics at the University of Manchester.
