A York school has presented £620 to the charity Help for Heroes.

The money was raised by St Peter’s School, York, through collections at their Public Lectures series, and by their runners in the Beverley 10k.

Help for Heroes is one of the School’s official charities this year, and donations from the public were extremely generous.

Gemma Sissons and Andrew Innes from Help for Heroes said: “We were delighted to receive this cheque. Through contributions like this we can keep increasing the much-needed support for our injured service men and women, including a new rehabilitation centre at Catterick that we are building.”

Ben Fuller, Head of Politics at St Peter’s and one of the organisers of the lecture series, said: “We’re really pleased to be able to hand over this money to such a fantastic charity.”

Help for Heroes is a charity founded in 2007 to support those wounded in the service of our country since 9/11.
