An excellent season for St Peter’s School rugby saw the school maintain its outstanding record as one of the leading rugby playing schools in the North of England. The 1st XV are the first school team for 35 years to be unbeaten in their normal fixtures.

Steve Williams, Director of Sport at St Peter’s said: “This fantastic season owes a lot to the talented rugby players in the Upper Sixth who make up the majority of the team. Throughout their time at the school, as rugby players they have been outstanding. As a year group they have only lost five matches and have never lost a game at home.”

Special congratulations go to Nick Stephen and Charlie Greswold who were selected for the Independent Schools North of England team and Will Shaw and Harry Richardson who both played for Yorkshire U16s. Harry Richardson then went on to be selected in the North of England U16s squad.

Everyone involved is proud of the achievement and pleased to have been part of such a successful season.
