St Swithun’s Junior athletes competed in the West Surrey Athletics competition last week and came away with flying colours. 17 schools were competing from the counties of Berkshire, Hampshire and Surrey and included up to 200 girls from Year 4 up to Year 8.
Alla Garside from Winchester gained 1st place in the U12 800m and has qualified for the National event at the Alexander Stadium, Birmingham in early July.
Elisia McCowen from Alresford was placed 1st in the U10 Long Jump and 3rd in the U10 75m final.
St Swithun’s Junior U12 relay team finished 1st in their race which also qualifies them for the Nationals at the Alexander Stadium, Birmingham. The U10 relay team won their 4 x 100m relay and finished 2nd overall.
