West End in Schools, a Theatre in Education company that specialises in bringing top musical theatre actors into primary schools, presented dance workshops for pupils at St Swithun’s Junior School on Tuesday 6th November. Led by choreographer and West End star Charlotte Bull, the individual year group workshops, called Bringing Books to Life, encouraged all the children to explore Maurice Sendak’s Where the Wild Things Are in a way that captured their imaginations. Charlotte, who is currently performing in the musical We Will Rock You in the West End, assisted each class in creating a 90 second dance piece to perform. The workshops were devised to help children creatively engage with books, and St Swithun’s was thrilled to bring a little West End stardust into school.
