St Swithun’s cricket team undefeated in Hampshire Schools Girls’ League

St Swithun’s U13 cricket team

The U13 cricket team from St Swithun’s School, Winchester have remained undefeated in this season’s Hampshire Schools Girls’ League (Winchester Area).

Cricket has been reintroduced at St Swithun’s in recent years and this was the girls’ first season playing league cricket.

With victories against Perins (St Swithun’s 110-5, Perins 89 -7); Testbourne (St Swithun’s 66-8, Testbourne 30-8); Hampshire Collegiate (St Swithun’s 65 -4, HCS 39-5) and Kings’ School, Winchester (St Swithun’s 81-6, Kings 74 -5), coach Sara Heffernan was delighted. She said ‘I would like to congratulate the girls on a great first season as part of the Hampshire league. These results are indicative of the girls’ hard work and commitment to training and the team spirit they have shown’.

The team members are Siobhan Tainton, Fran Bedford, Kate Wimbush, Silke Doljanin, Alice Calder, Eliza Onslow, Minty Kennedy, Anna Nandhakumar, Lilla Hardman, Elizabeth Adamson, Hannah Penny and Hermione Fay.
