A team from St Swithun’s Junior School, Winchester competed at the Independent Schools Association Indoor Ski Championships at Snow Centre, Hemel Hempstead on 20 April.
The inaugural ISA event brought together 50 schools and 250 children and the St Swithun’s Junior School team competed well against boys and girls with ages ranging from eight to fourteen.
St Swithun’s had four girls in the top twenty U10 places. Holly Gates, aged eight from Alresford received a medal as the 4th fastest U10 girl. Jessie Lapsa came in 8th place, Matilda Melhuish in 11th and Penny Niven in 16th. St Swithun’s A team came in 5th place overall.
The St Swithun’s combined team was Daisy Gates (captain), Izzy Green, Manimekhla Mittal, Katya Longden, Matilda Melhuish, Holly Gates, Jessie Lapsa and Penny Niven.
