St Swithun’s 1st lacrosse team win Berkhamsted 8-a-side tournament

St Swithun's 1st Lacrosse Team TrophyThe St Swithun’s School, Winchester 1st lacrosse team competed in and won the annual Berkhamsted 8-a-side tournament in September.
Morning play started off in a fast paced style with tough competition.  A draw against St Alban’s High School in the first match of the day was enough to spark a fire in the St Swithun’s team. St Swithun’s soon began working together almost effortlessly to produce further wins.  The morning results placed the 1st team in the top division for afternoon play.

In the afternoon the 1sts fought even harder for the 50/50 balls, playing patiently in attack and maintaining possession for long periods of time.  Ultimately this led to them defeating two of their fiercest competitors; Lady Eleanor High School and Guildford High School.  Outstanding goals came from a variety of players, and an excellent team effort in defence led to St Swithun’s winning the top division.
