Eleven year old pupil Elisabeth Law from St Swithun’s School, Winchester came third with her team at a national triathlon event.

Elisabeth, who lives in Basingstoke, competed with team-mates in The British Modern Triathlon Championships, hosted by Pentathlon GB, Solihull on the 25th-26th April. Elisabeth competed for her local club Wessex Wyvern where she is coached by Michelle Matson (Wessex Wyvern) and Russell North (Pentathlon GB South).

Ten clubs from different counties across the UK were competing in Elisabeth’s U13 event. Elisabeth and team members competed in a shoot detail, a 50m swim and a 400m run/shoot combination event. They were beaten by a team from Dorset and the runners-up were from Yorkshire.

Elisabeth has only been training with Wessex Wyvern Pentathlon Club for a year but is thoroughly enjoying the challenge and plans to take part in many more competitions.
