The GISGA 2 piece Championships were held on 2nd December 2012 at SJS. This was the second day of 
gymnastics hosted by SJS. The event is essentially a qualifying event for the main GISGA 5 piece championships in March.
With the top teams from last year ineligible to enter, it was a chance for SES to show their improvement and try to dominate the event.
The Under 10 team (Isobel Conley, Lucy Porteus, Sophie Halsall, Erin Andrews and Scarlet Daniel) were missing one of their top gymnasts but this gave two of the novice gymnasts the opportunity to gain experience in a National competition. The team finished 6th after some pleasing performances.
The Under 13 team (Lottie Smith, Emilie Morris, Emma Couchman, Emily Wilson and Alice Muhley) looked strong but knew they had to show off their best if they were to win. They did just that – with a perfect 10 score on vault from Lottie Smith. The team finished 1st and received gold medals and a cup.
The Over 13 team (Maddy Young, Danni Prior, Sophie Kendal, Alice Edwards and Ciara Mark) then followed suit with dominance in their age group. After some great performances, they were announced as Champions for their age group.
Alice Muhey, Georgie Richardson, Jess Daniel all competed as reserves in U13 section and Katy Downer was the highest scoring reserve in the O13 section.

Of particular note were Lottie Smith, named the U13 GISGA 2 piece Champion, and Emilie Morris, who came third. Maddy Young was the O13 GISGA 2 piece Champion, with Danni Prior third and Ciara Mark fourth.
The main event was GISGA Under 9 Nationals the next day. 15 teams took part from all over the country, including one team from Brussels, and each had to compete on five events – Set Floor, Voluntary Floor, Set Vault, Voluntary Vault and Group Sequence.
SJS entered nine girls – five in the team and four reserves. The reserves (Abigail Lamb, Flossie Davies, Nicola Cato and Issy Reading) competed in the first round and showed great improvement and gained valuable experience.
The team (Isabella Plant, Imogen Foster, Beth Wilson, Rachel Harte and Isabel Leetch) competed in the third round. They presented their routines with elegance and precision, and they were commended by the judges for this. They concentrated exceptionally well in their group routine to finish fifth in this event. The team finished an incredible fourth in very good company and received fourth place medals and a trophy.
Isabella Plant continued to prove her potential with some incredible performances to finish 3rd individually.
