Stonar appoints new head teacher

Toby Nutt, who has been the highly capable and successful Deputy Head of the school for the past six years, will be taking over the role of Head in January from current Head, Elizabeth Thomas. Stonar Head Teacher

Before joining Stonar, Toby was at Tanglin Trust School, Singapore, one of the world’s leading international schools. As Head of Sixth Form there, he oversaw a considerable expansion in numbers. Prior to his post in South East Asia, Toby had senior leadership roles including Housemaster, Head of Biology and Head of Upper Sixth at Reading Blue Coat School, one of Berkshire’s leading day schools.

Reflecting on his appointment, Toby said ‘I am delighted and excited to be taking on the role of Head at Stonar. To be asked to lead such a wonderful community is a great honour. I will work tirelessly to continue the school’s excellent development whilst ensuring that the personal and academic progress of every pupil enables them to achieve beyond all expectations.’

In their recent report the Independent Schools Inspectorate rated the quality of the pupils’ achievements and learning as ‘excellent’ and praised Stonar for its ‘confident and very articulate’ pupils who ‘have the desire to succeed and fulfil their potential.’
