A performance of Handel’s Messiah was given in St Peter’s Church at Stonyhurst College on Thursday 21st November.
It was sung by the school’s chamber choir – Schola Cantorum – and was conducted by Dr Kevin Morgan.
The solos were sung by Stonyhurst pupils: Martha Hindle (soprano), Lucia Turner (alto), Noah Williams (tenor) and Simon Whittle (bass).
All are taught by singing teacher Jan Moon and gave impressive and very musical performances of Handel’s technically demanding arias.
Many people came along and enjoyed both the excellence of the singing and the beauty of St Peter’s by candle light.
