Michael Diamond has an unconditional offer to read Medicine at Pembroke College Oxford.

David Garbutt, Joe Xu and Alan Zhang all have conditional offers to study at Cambridge University.  Whilst David intends to study Natural Sciences at Selwyn College, Joe and Alan have offers for Engineering at St John’s College and Trinity College respectively.  Both these boys have also been placed in the UK top 50 British Physics Olympiad and consequently been invited to compete for a place in the UK national team participating in the International Physics Olympiad in Indonesia.

Oxbridge preparation begins early in the Easter term and is overseen by the Oxbridge Tutor, Lucinda Fisher. Potential candidates in year 12 are offered the opportunity to attend one of the Oxford and Cambridge Student Conferences.  They are also assigned an academic mentor who offers them encouragement and support in their super-curricular studies. A session of formal mock interviews takes place in November, following the entrance assessments.

Headmaster John Browne said: “These four boys have demonstrated huge dedication and commitment not only to their academic studies but to the wider life of the school.  We are immensely proud of what they have achieved and wish them every success as they move forward and ‘set the world on fire.’”
