Stover School pupils on the olympic torch paradeOn Sunday 20th May 2012, the Olympic Torch passed through Devon, on its Official journey around the UK, to mark the countdown for the London Olympic and Paralympic Games 2012. All of the School Partnerships within South Devon marked this occasion by organising an Olympic Torch Parade and Sport Afternoon.

Through our links within the School Sport Partnership with South Dartmoor Community College, Stover had the fantastic opportunity to be a part of this once in a lifetime event.

10 Prep children participated in a fun-filled, action-packed afternoon, full of sports activities, commencing with a grand ‘Olympic-style’ Opening Ceremony, with Stover adopting Myranmar as our home country for this event.

Once the afternoon closed with whole school relay races, everyone disembarked towards Shaldon Bridge to get a spot to watch the infamous Torch pass by us all.

All of the children involved thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated the chance to be a part of such a prestigious occasion.
