Stover School Remberance DayOur Remembrance Service took place on Friday 11th November 2011 at 10.30am and we were again extremely pleased and grateful that serving members of all the armed forces, as well as school governors and friends of the School, were able to join us as our guests, on this reflective occasion.

The service began with the choir singing a fitting version of ‘The Lord is my Shepherd’ whilst photographs from recent world events played dramatically on the screen above, reminding us all how lucky we are to be here, in the beautiful grounds of Stover.

Commodore Ben Key, RN, Governor of Stover School and Grandson of its founder, shared the reflection with the school Chaplain, Fiona Wimsett. Stover’s Principal, Mrs Sue Bradley was delighted to present Lieut. Col. Alan Gorczyca, Regional Director of Fundraising for ABF The Soldiers Charity, with a cheque from the annual Curry Lunch and Mufti Day, held for that charity earlier in the term.

Prayers were read by Stover’s Head Boy, Hugh Reade and Harvey Seale played The Last Post as we respectfully observed a two minute silence.
