St Michael’s Church in Teignmouth was packed for the Shrove Tuesday Concert , performed by solo singers and instrumentalists and Stover’s award-winning Cantabile Choir.
The varied programme featured works by Mozart, Bach and Puccini, along with pieces by modern composers including Burt Bacharach and Karl Jenkins.
The money raised by the event is being used for repairs to the church roof, a project with a target of £150,000 over the next two years.
Cantabile Choir has given a number of concerts at the church, including regularly performing at the flower festival in June.
Refreshments were provided by the church’s social committee and a vote of thanks was given by the Rector, The Reverend Graham Stones.
