Burgess Hill School for Girls GCSE resultsStudents at Burgess Hill School for Girls have again achieved superb GCSE results.

The overall pass rate was 100% with 98.9% at the crucial A* to C grades. All students achieved the key government measure of at least five A* to C grades. More than three quarters of the year group achieved grades A* – B in all their subjects, and 37% gained all A* and A grades.

Particular congratulations go to the following girls who gained A* or A grades in all their subjects: Chloe Au, Sophie Davies, Olivia Garry, Lauren Hibbert, Claudia James, Beth King, Emily Lee, Freya Loughton, Ashley Ma, Cindy Moige, Alice Paterson, Tabitha Reynolds, Rebecca Robinson and Georgia Taylor.

Four Burgess Hill School for Girls’ students achieved a full house of A* grades, with forty top grades between them. They are Shannon Gunawardana, Anoushka Khandwala, Elysia Warner and Lily Williams.

Headmistress, Ann Aughwane said “With the current emphasis on core subjects our students can be particularly proud that 93% of all English Language and Literature results, 93% of all IGCSE Science results and 97% of all Mathematics and Statistics results were graded A* to B. It is also most encouraging that, despite concerns regarding the decline in numbers studying languages to GCSE level in the UK, 95% of all entries in French, German, Spanish, Latin, Greek and Chinese achieved A* to B grades. This year group have been a delight to work with and I am thrilled to see them gain the results they deserve; there is no doubt that they are well placed to continue their studies and we look forward to seeing them back for the Sixth Form in September.”

A* grades: 38.4%
A*/A grades: 74.4%
A* – B grades: 94%
