Trent College GCSE Exam resultsFollowing on from the success of the recent A Level results, Trent College GCSE students also secured outstanding results this year, the second best ever results in the school’s history. Many students managed to secure straight A* and A grades across all of their subjects and now progress on through to the Trent Sixth Form to begin their A level studies.

A shell-shocked Sarah Ashcroft and Luke Fessey had the accolade of being the year’s top performers by Sarah achieved 9 A*s and an A, and Luke achieving 9A*s.
Sarah, from Breaston, said: “My results were a lot better than I was expecting, especially in English, in total I got 9A*s and an A! I was nervous waiting for the results, some of the exams were difficult, very difficult, but overall I found them a bit of a mixture really. I’m going to stay on for Sixth Form, to do three Sciences and Maths but I’ve not a clue what I want to do after that yet though!”

Still digesting all the result sheets in his hand, Luke from Radcliffe-on-Trent, when asked how he’d done said: “From the look of it, I got straight A*s! So I’m pretty happy, it’s about as good as it gets! I wasn’t expecting such good results, but I was hoping for them, I wasn’t sure that I’d done that well in History, English and Physics, those were the exams that had more surprises in them! I’m staying on for A Levels to do three sciences and Maths because I’m thinking of doing Medicine at Uni.”

Delighted Ella Gregg from Wollaton and her proud parents couldn’t contain their excitement with her wonderful results. Ella said “I got 4 A*s, 4 As and a B, my best result for me personally was my Physics because I got an A and I really didn’t expect that”.
Stephanie Berwick from Long Eaton (7 A*s and 3 As) and Jack Sproson from Derby (6 A*s, 2 As and a B) also did extremely well and are both staying at Trent College to take their A Levels with an aim to go on to study Law degrees at university.

Stephanie said, “I’m so pleased with my results, I’m particularly happy with my sciences as I didn’t think I’d do as well in that area but I actually got A*s in both. Exam preparation was stressful but it paid out in the end, I’m going to do English Literature, Geography, Spanish and Maths for my A Levels and I’m thinking of Law after that for university.”

Gill Dixon, The Head of Trent, commented, “Our aspiration at Trent College is to help students achieve their absolute personal best in whatever they do. Trent is renowned for a broad-based education reflecting the highest academic standards while inspiring young people to develop their individual talents. These results are, therefore, testament to the hard work and enthusiasm of our students, and also to our teaching staff who have supported them with such dedication.”
