The College Ski Teams train at the Gloucester Ski and Snowboard Centre under the guidance of Chantelle Goddard-Jones, Coach of the slalom team at Gloucester. Selections for the ski races in Flaine, France were made following a series of trials at the Gloucester dry ski slope. Around 142 British girls competed in 46 teams during the week of 25th January 2010. There were 28 teams in the British based non-registered skiers category in which the seven girls from College competed in both team and individual races. None of the girls from College are registered skiers but many achieved faster times than registered skiers, who regularly compete for schools and clubs.

Mrs Rachel Guest, PE Teacher, said, ‘these ski races are a fantastic introduction to the competitive world of ski racing. The girls should be very proud of these excellent results and thanks must go to Chantelle for all her hard-work and commitment.”

Daphne has been invited by the English Schools’ Ski Association (Esskia) to attend a training camp in Geilo, Norway. Annabel has been given a week of training with the DHO (Downhill Only) during half term.
