We were delighted to host Blundell's on Wednesday afternoon which gave our keen squash players exposure Taunton Squashto some competitive squash.

An intrigued crowd were lucky enough to witness Charlie Gamble dismantle the Blundell's number one (11-4, (11-6, 12-10) in what can only be described as exhibition squash!

A real treat and many would have picked up lots of tips from him learnt how the game should be played!

Sam Rixon was drafted in and thrown in at the deep end against a competent Blundell's number two. He battled hard (until the last set anyway!) before going down 3-0. I'm sure he would have gained lots from the experience.

Lower down saw competitive squash debuts for Andrew Tam, Joe Nebbett, Sam Griffin & Tom Brandon. All went down, but went down fighting hard, and no doubt it will have done a lot for the boys who I'm sure enjoyed it immensely. I am sure it will create a desire to play more/train harder and improve lots!

Charlie Gamble (pictured) is currently playing at a very high standard of squash. He trains up to six hours a week and is currently ranked 18 in the country at U17.

He recently played in the National Finals and won U17 County Closed, going on to finish 2nd in the Regional Finals. We wish him all the best in his up coming events including representing the South West in the National area finals.
