To celebrate Chinese New Year 2013, Mrs Hallworth took a group of Taunton School International students – Zoe, Taunton School nursery internationalJade, Momoko, Bonnie, Nicky, Mike, Anders, Rebecca, Bob , and Jason – to Taunton Nursery school to help some of our younger students experience one of the most important traditions in the Chinese calendar.

The Taunton School International students spent some time in the classroom with the younger pupils, teaching them how to write and say some basic Chinese words, which was followed by the Nursery pupils performing their Chinese song and dance for their audience!

Jade then gave a fabulous rendition of the Chinese version of ‘Happy New Year’ and helped give out the famous ‘red envelopes of lucky money’ which symbolise good fortune, wealth and longevity.

It was a great opportunity for our students to integrate with another part of Taunton School and meet some different staff and students alike. Thanks to Mrs Hallworth and the Nursery staff for arranging this wonderful event.  Taunton School international
