The senior girls’ netball teams at Taunton School have fought off stiff competition to be crowned County Cup Champions, and the U16 team are heading to Nationals.

The squad will travel to Welwyn Garden City on Friday to compete in The National Schools Netball Finals. The talented team qualified at the end of January after coming second at the South West Regional Schools tournament in Bournemouth.

Head of Netball Lisa Manley said: “This is the second year in a row that a Taunton School netball team has made it through to this prestigious National Final. Good luck to all the girls involved.”

Meanwhile the Taunton School U19 and U15 netball squads competed in the County Cup Tournament last week. Despite the extreme windy conditions, both teams kept their fine form and managed to fend off all opposition.

Lisa Manley commented: “Both teams won all their matches in convincing style and being crown County Cup Champions is the honour they deserve.”
