A Taunton School pupil has made her debut in the England Volleyball Super Eights League.
Playmaker Georgia McGovern recently represented TeamBU Wessex Ladies and won the Most Valuable Player of the Game award despite a disappointing defeat.
Georgia’s mother Jane commented: “This is a great achievement especially as she is currently the youngest British player in the Super Eight League.”
Her success follows an impressive performance for Taunton Junior Volleyball U16s in the National Championship Regional qualifiers, where she helped the team win three consecutive games without dropping a set to progress to the final eight of the England National Championships in March.
In the meantime, she continues to train with England and is now included in the Senior Women’s U23 squad for their upcoming matches in the spring.
