Boys celebrate their results – in a socially distanced way – with the Headmaster, James Priory.

Boys at Tonbridge School have once more achieved an excellent set of GCSE and IGCSE results.

In what is the school’s strongest performance on record, 95 per cent of all GCSE results were at Grades 9, 8 and 7, the equivalent to A* or A.

A hugely impressive 79 per cent of all results were at Grades 9 and 8, equivalent to A*; and exactly half of all grades were at Grade 9.

Twenty-two boys achieved an amazing ‘clean sweep’ of Grade 9s / A*s; a further 60 boys achieved 9s/8s/A*s. There was a pass rate of 100 per cent.

These results continue a tradition of excellent GCSE performances at Tonbridge in recent years.

The school’s Headmaster, James Priory, said: “The boys can be rightly proud of these superb results, which reflect how hard they have worked over the two years of their GCSE courses. Well done to all. This outcome also speaks volumes about the talented and dedicated teaching team we have at the school.

“We understand, of course, the disappointment that many pupils felt this year by not having the opportunity to prove themselves in the exam hall. Nevertheless, today’s news will enable our boys to move forward with confidence to the next stage of their education, when they start a new and exciting chapter by entering the Sixth Form here at Tonbridge.

“Our brand new Sixth Form Curriculum, launched online last term, will not only give boys a superb learning experience during their A-level studies, but also the best possible preparation for university and future careers. Today’s GCSE results show the great potential these boys have, and we look forward to them becoming the academic leaders of the school and excelling on all fronts.”
