Less than one week after representing GB at the FEI European Championships for Ponies in Denmark, Queen Margaret’s student Constance Warde-Aldam is celebrating again having collected her GCSE results.

The talented rider was selected for the Charles Owen British Pony Team with 15 year old gelding, Craig Mor Tom. After a closely fought competition in Vilhelmsborg the British Team secured a place on the podium, winning Silver.  Connie enjoyed personal success, being well placed in all three disciplines.

To add to Connie’s eventful week, this morning she learnt that she has gained an A*, eight As and one B in her GCSE results. This gives her the grades she needs to go on to study A Levels at Queen Margaret’s Sixth Form.

Anne Davies, Director of Sport at Queen Margaret’s says that Connie’s success is well deserved “Connie is proof that hard work and determination pays off in all aspects of life. One of our School aims is for students to achieve excellence inside and outside the classroom, and Connie has certainly done so.”

Connie’s results are amongst many others being celebrated at Queen Margaret’s today, with 98% of students achieving five or more A*-C grades (up on last year’s 95% and far outstripping the falling national average of 67%).
