Top Offers for Felsted Girls

Felsted girls have received some top offers over the past few weeks, ranging from dentistry in Vienna and Geography at Durham through to Ancient History at Edinburgh and Biomedical Sciences at King’s College London.  The academic ambition and interest that Felsted girls pursue is inspiring to those around them. Three girls in particular have caught our eye in pursuit of their dreams.

CFelsted_Three_Girlsharley Butler, 17 from Gosfield has secured an incredible unconditional offer to read Music Performance at Southampton. This talented teenager impressed the University so much in her interviews that they offered her a place on the spot! Charley has an exceptional vocal talent that has flourished during her time at Felsted, where she has also been able to pursue her passion for the drums and guitar.  She is currently taking A Levels in Geography, Classics and Theatre Studies. “The Music Department have all been amazing in their support for me. My highlights at Felsted have to be singing in St. Paul’s Cathedral at the School’s 450th anniversary 3 years ago and more recently in their Funk Band.” Charley intends to take a GAP year volunteering on a ranch in Wyoming, USA to pursue her additional love of horse riding!

Olivia Fenn, 18, from Fyfield, has decided to head straight into the City to pursue her dream of becoming a City Broker. Having gained some work experience over the past few years, Olivia has secured a Broking Administrator post at Marex Spectron, a world leading commodity broking house, where she will be up early and learning the ropes from July. Olivia is currently studying Geography, Psychology and Business Studies for which she is predicted ABB. “Felsted has made me a very organised, motivated and confident person and I can’t wait to start – I love the buzz of City life!

Madeline Witcomb, 18, from Little Easton, has secured the lowest offer possible from St.George’s in London of three A grades to read Medicine. Predicted A*AA in Design Technology, Biology and Chemistry, Maddie impressed the interviewers with her interest in design technology and its use in medicine. As an Arkwright Scholar, sponsored by an orthopaedic surgeon, she has gained some practical work experience over the past few years to fuel her interest in this area. “Felsted has fully supported me in pursuing my passion and in setting up a Medical Society at School”. Maddie has also applied for a backup offer to study Medicine at Queen Mary University in Malta.

Mrs Sarah Barratt, Housemistress to the girls, who all board at Felsted, comments; “The variety of talent within the house this year is amazing and it is great to see the girls branching into many different avenues. I am incredibly proud of how hard they have all worked this year and I hope that they will all achieve their goals this summer and beyond.”
