Oswestry School recently invited England Netball team head coach Tracey Neville MBE to coach a masterclass in the newly constructed Momentum Hall.

Tracey started playing netball at county level when she was 14 and first represented her country in 1993 when she competed for England in the 1998 and 2002 Commonwealth Games.  A knee injury forced her to retire from the game in 2008, but since then, she has been dedicated to raising the profile of netball throughout the country.  In 2015, Tracey was appointed coach of the England netball team.

Netballers from Oswestry School and many other schools spent an hour with Tracey learning key skills and then transferring them to fast-paced games.  Along with the training session, Tracey held an informal question and answer session and signed autographs.

Sofie Suckley, Head of Academic PE, said: “It was lovely for the school to have such an amazing role model visit the school. Both pupils, visiting pupils and staff really enjoyed the session and we were delighted to host such an inspiration as Tracey Neville.”
