Born in Indonesia and with a Portugese father, Ingrid grew up and studied in Hong Kong. In her Hong Kong school she was a member of both the English and Chinese debating teams.
Over her school career Ingrid has developed a passionate interest in politics and international relations. Her own richly varied cultural background has contributed to the impressive breadth and range of her political interests.
Having gained outstanding results at AS level, including full marks in several of her modules, Ingrid applied to Magdalene College, Cambridge to study Politics, Psychology and Sociology. She has been offered a place for 2010 and is looking forward to the exciting challenges involved.
Absolute commitment to her chosen subjects makes Ingrid an exemplary student but she is no narrow boffin. She enjoys music and is an outstanding pianist. She was elected as captain of her House and organises House plays, House music and House sporting competitions with efficiency and flair.
Since coming to the UK Ingrid has gained in confidence. She is an excellent role model and does all with immense good humour. She is thoughtful, sensitive and makes the most of every opportunity afforded to her.
Ingrid appreciates profoundly all that her UK educational experience has provided and is the embodiment of all that we wish to see in our overseas boarders.
