The team started the Rugby Sevens season with a bang at the Packwood tournament. In a pool of 4, the team defeated Moor Park in the first game with the impressive score of 47-0, causing the referee to approach them with astonishment at their performance. He was hugely impressed by the skill, physicality and speed of the players and marked them as the team to beat. Games against Wisbech and Terra Nova were comfortable wins, with the team scoring a total of 153 points to just 5 against in the pool games.

As group winners, team powered through the quarter and semi-finals with impressive wins to meet St Olaves from York – the favourites at the tournament – in the final. Ultimately the opposition were outmatched in speed and strength, and Bromsgrove were deserved winners with a final score of 36-0.

The following weekend, the team travelled to Millfield School to face a challenging group of strong teams at the extremely competitive tournament. In the first group match Monmouth School were the first and only group to score against Bromsgrove, with the following matches as clean sweeps including a strong performance of 42-0 against Dulwich College Prep School in the semi-final. Against the home side in the final, battling against rain and mud and playing up a slope in the first half, the team came up against strong opposition. However, powerful defence allowed Bromsgrove to win the ball and break through with a try from Cooper Bent and a conversion from James Taylor (both aged 12), winning the match and the tournament.
