The girls played well, but also soaked up a lot of pressure. Displaying determination and skill, they improved as the tournament progressed.
The championship was a round robin, so the girls played four matches to earn their title; they won their match against Crispin 4-0, drew 1-1 with Millfield, won 4-0 against King’s Hall and drew 0-0 with All Hallows in their final match.
Maddie Cater, in goal, played bravely and strongly, despite being injured. Bea Fender was determined and skilful in defence and Emily Fry hassled brilliantly up front. Naomi Wilde led from the front, working tirelessly and weaving her way through several opponents to score some outstanding individual goals and lifting her team.
This was a brilliant result for the girls, who have played exceptionally well all season.
