Wales 7s star Richie Pugh joins Llandovery Prep School

Wales 7s player Richie Pugh has been appointed Prep School Sports Coordinator at Llandovery Prep School. Llandovery College

Richie is a graduate of Swansea University, and has been a professional rugby player for the past 12 years.

He is married to Gemma, and they have a little boy Tomos.

Richie will be aiming to further raise the profile and provision of sport among Llandovery College’s youngest pupils who are aged between three and 11.

Among the many sports available at the Prep are rugby, hockey, fencing, swimming, football, netball, athletics, cricket and rounders.

Richie joined the Scarlets in 2009 after having played for Swansea, Cardiff, The Ospreys, London Welsh and Exeter Chiefs.

Pugh made his Scarlets debut in September 2009 against Leinster, and has scored three tries in total.

He played for Wales when he came on as a replacement in their tour match against USA in June 2005, which Wales won 77 – 3. Pugh marked his international debut with a try.

Richie has been a key member of the Wales 7s team over recent years and was part of the Wales team that won the IRB Sevens World Cup in Dubai in 2009. He has also captained the team on numerous occasions.
