Wellington School Blundells ODE
Annabelle Jay, Mo Maunder and Lara Jay show off their prizes at the Blundell’s One Day Event with James Griffin of Every’s Solicitors.

Pupils from Wellington School enjoyed great success at last weekend’s Blundell’s One Day Event at Bicton.

In Class 1 (80cm) Ellen Cowling, in Year 8, finished 3rd overall with Thomas Broom, a Year 9 pupil, who jumped a double clear and was the highest placed boy in the section.  Imogen Griffin, who has just joined Year 7 at Wellington, also had a clear round in the showjumping section.

Annabelle Jay jumped an impressive double clear round in the Class 2 (90cm) which, coupled with her score of 30.4 in the dressage put her in 2nd place over all.  Year 9 pupil, Mo Maunder, had a fantastic day, finishing 2nd on her first horse Billy in the team event and 3rd in the individual event on Cosmo after double clear rounds on both horses in the showjumping.

In the Class 3 (100cm) event, Imogen Griffin, competing at this height for the first time, had a double clear in the showjumping on her horse, Hamish, which helped her Wellington teammates to win the team event.

The Wellington School Equestrian team looked superb in their new kit, which is sponsored by Every’s Solicitors.
