Wellington School Chapel Choir joined forces with the Choir of Truro School for the first time on Wednesday to sing evensong in Truro Cathedral.
In a new venture, devised by Wellington School Director of Music, Andrew Trewhella and Christopher Gray, Director of Music at Truro Cathedral, the Chapel Choir sang in this beautiful architectural gem.
The music included Dyson’s Wagnerian canticles in D and Mendelssohn’s dramatic anthem “Hear my Prayer” which includes the ethereal “O For the Wings of a Dove”.
“With the inspiring acoustics of the Cathedral, it was a truly wonderful evening” commented Andrew Trewhella. “To ensure the school community do not miss out, the Choir will perform this same music during Choral Evensong at Wellington School chapel on Sunday at 6.30pm”.
