Wellington School Class of 2023 Celebrates Excellent A Level and BTEC Results

Wellington School’s Class of 2023 were celebrating today after receiving some excellent A level
and BTEC results.

Close to a third of all grades awarded were the top A* or A, with 12 students achieving at least 3
A or A* grades. This included Barney Kerr who attained an impressive 4 A* grades in Computer
Science, Maths, Further Maths and Physics, and who will now be taking up his place at
the University of Southampton to study Electronic Engineering with Computer Systems, and
Lucy Edwards who achieved 3 A* grades in Biology, Chemistry and Maths.

There were also some great results for those students completing their Sports BTEC Level 3 National Diploma, with Hashim Ahmed achieving top distinctions with D*D grades, securing his place to study Sports Psychology at Loughborough University. Students across the year group will be taking up places on a range of courses at leading universities, with the majority securing places at their chosen university. This included a record 4 students gaining sought after places to study Physiotherapy and a number of students being awarded highly competitive academic or sports scholarships.

Finn Irving has secured his place at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama to study
Production Arts, Kartik Rajasekhar has been offered at place at the University of Bristol to study Medicine, whilst George Davis’ excellent grades in English, Geography and History have
secured him a place to read Archaeology and Anthropology at the University of Oxford.

Headmaster Eugene du Toit commented. “We are very proud of our Upper Sixth students, who
have worked hard and overcome many challenges during the past few years. It is very pleasing
to see that their efforts have been rewarded. I am immensely grateful to our teachers for all the
support and guidance they gave to the Class of 2023. Their willingness to go the extra mile is a
reflection of their professionalism and dedication.”
